My week starts with a bang thanks to Thome and Iguchi. They combine to go 3/8, with 2 R, 1 HR and 2 RBI.
The Strikers have Rafael Furcal going 1/3 and scoring 2 runs, so, maybe that's a wash.

The Chairs are up against the league leading Whatchama Kollett, and off to a strong start on day 1, with a homer from the good Jones; a couple of hits a piece from Jenkins and Figgins; a strong start from John Lackey and a guerilla win from my new star reliever, Oscar Villarreal... Chairs are up 8-2...
We have a new strategy over here in the Adirondacks... look for some roster moves over the next week or so.

Is there a bad Jones?
We start out 5-5 with fellow middle-of-the-packer Strikers. I have no pitching stats, ERA and WHIP aren't counted yet and APP, IP, and K are basically a gimme for the Strikers.
I've decided to sit tight, rotate from my bench when I need to and try and figure out where my strengths and weaknesses lie. I'm assuming I need another reliever or different starters to lower my ERA and WHIP statistics. I feel strong in the offensive categories; we'll see.

Chipper went on the DL.
I should sit tight, but I love making roster moves.

Agreed to trade Tom Glavine for Jeff Weaver and Salomn Torres. I just realized Torres is a Buc.

Juan Pierre singlehandedly doubled the Taster's stolen bases for the week. We have 4 now.

Torres of the Pirates? What does Buc stand for?

Yes. Buc is short for Buccaneers, aka, Pirates.

Really rueing my inability to get Uggla off the bench today. Must spend more time on Yahoo! fantasy sports.

You could have had 4 HR (so far) today, instead of 3...

I could have had 5 HR instead of 4...
Strikers picked up two yesterday so we're tied in that category with 6 a piece. Tasters up overall at mid-week, 8-3.
I like my pitching statistics so far, 3.83 ERA and 1.15 WHIP.
John Damon and Jim Thome are having big weeks. Damon has 5 runs on 4 hits with 5 ribbies.

Chairs stepped above #1 seed Whatchama with yesterdays performance.
Chairs lead in all pitching categories (3.56 ERA, 1.09 WHIP) and Whatchama lead in all offence, except for a tie in SB.
With the exception of HR (8-2) and W (4-1) every category is up for grabs, good week. OK, maybe SLG (558-454) is a lock, too...
Monster starts out of Cliff Lee and John Lackey.

I am getting totally hosed in the Honeypump league - DFL oout of 16- am winning in The Brick's league, and am 7-1-2 in the Newburty Street league.

Last week I was concerned about ERA and WHIP. I seem to be right in the think of things so far this week.

After 2 weeks, phonecalls to buzzorhowl, tgl rsn inquiries, and a fair dose of WIKI, I think I am starting to understand some of these sabermetric stats like WHIP.
Fun Fun Fun :)

Tasters start the day with a stunning lead, 11-1.
If Arroyo can pitch another scoreless 7 innings today, the Tasters will be a happy bunch.

The Chairs gor roughed up yesterday. Geoff Jenkins had a good day on our bench, and Mariano "Blown Save" Rivera torqued our collective ERA... Fortunately I have Oscar "The Sniper" Villarreal with two wins, and Matt Holliday carrying my offense.
Lackey and Lee both have starts today, the Chairs pitching will prevail!

Little in the world makes me happier than a Rivera blown save.

Big week for the Tasters. We take every category except W to claim a 13-1 week and an overall 20-7-1 record to be atop the league.
Damn. This is fun.
Big weeks from Guerrero and Thome. Carpenter and Arroyo are pretty solid as well.

Yeah, me too, which is why, regardless of how good I expect him to pan out, I'm going to try to trade him. I hate rooting for the MFY.
