Wow, I didn't get the name of Burma's 2nd album "OnOffOn" until the article. Feeling dense as granite.

I did shake Conley's hand after the UMass Burma/Pixies show, even though we only saw Burma's last 4 songs. Conley said, "I didn't know people your age listened to us," making me feel about 21 years old. Cool dude.

Tufts media darling: Michael T. Fournier.

I had the pleasure of seeing them in a surprise appearance at Harborlights (er, FleetBoston Pavillion...um, whatever it's called now) - they were super. A little rusty, though, as it may have been one of the first times they'd played together onstage in front of a large audience in a long time. They outshined headliner Wilco, and rocked enough that I was willing to forgive Thurston, Kim, et al for bagging on the show I'd intended on seeing.

Oh, and, I always knew Chronicle was punk rock.

Wilco @ Brown University last week (4/20) was no joke... Nels Cline is Not to be fucked with...

It is a bit punk, isn't it? Now I know why I watch Chronicle at 2:30 am when Antiques Roadshow isn't on...

Punk is all about the back roads.

Wilco and Conley in the same thread, makes me get all fuzzy inside.

Media WHORE, thank you very much.

Would I be chastised for saying there are tinges of punk in Wilco? (thinking especially of their sound asthetics post 'Summerteeth' - Branca/Sonic Youthish drones/blurbs/whirrs, the addition of Nels Cline... 'Avant Garde' is probably more appropro (they are on Nonesuch alongside Bill Frisell, Brian Wilson, John Zorn fr chrissakes)

Jeff Tweedy is more folkish / acoustic I s'pose, but Wilco has built their own sound, audience, niche, etc, that, IMHO is pretty punk.

Tee hee - "much respect" is what the rastafarian homeless-newspaper seller in my old neighborhood used to say.

Null Protocol is totally down with Jah.
