not really a fan. Radiohead-lite with better teeth? See '40 Year Old Virgin' for more...

I've heard the "Radiohead-lite" description before, and I find it stunningly accurate. Radiohead is unafraid to fail musically nor politicaly. Coldplay is. That said, the song 'Clocks' is pretty much unfuckwithable.

Quick aside questions: -Do people know Radiohead's song 'Talk Show Host'? (not sure if it was ever released on an lp) -Should I just suck it up and buy some My Bloody Valetine?

I had a really wierd dream that the lead singer of coldplay was at makin monday's tuesdays. But it wasn't at the three. We got a shipment in and he looked totally freaked out. I have no idea why that was in my brain other than the fact that I read some article about how Coldplay planted 500 trees in Brazil to offset the carbon pollution created by the production of their albums.

'Talk Show Host' is only commercially available on the 'Romeo and Juliet' sndtk - the weird venice beach version Leonardo Dicaprio I believe... good tune - I dunno if I would plunk down for the one song - It would be nice if Radiohead's people could talk to the Apple people and get some pay per song action going - in the meantime there's always soul ahem seek or something...

wonder if they were 'Apple' trees (chortle)

You should.

I can't escape them. Every eating establishment or chain retail store I go into, their music is playing. It's maddening. I don't even know (or care) what the guy's singing about, but he sure sounds melancholy and resigned over it. Given the choice of hearing Sheryl Crow, recent Eric Clapton, or Coldplay while shopping or eating, I would take either of the first two in a second. Melancholy is so yesteryear.

I instantly hated coldplay for some odd reason. They seem like a good band. A little bit too poppy. I really hope their at the 3 tonight.

S.Crow and any of era of Clapton shouldn't be placed w/ in miles of Coldplay IMHO (which feels a little high and mighty and snobby - but hey, thats how I feel)

For the record, I can't figure out if that's a dig on Coldplay or if you're giving them props. It could kinda go either way.

good call - pretty ambigous post. strong bad vibes about coldplay - mediocre music troubles me

I guess I'm the only person on this post to use and endorse Coldplay.

a friend of mine used to live next door to all the coldplay boys bar Mr Martin - he said they were a good laugh but chris was a self rightous bore without a sense of humour... just saying like

Its okay - I guess Im the only rsn'er to use and endorse southern pecan. the funny thing too is that I could become a complete hypocritical asshole in 6 months and think they're a great band...
