If the L.A. Lakers win the NBA Finals, I'll drink nothing but Stoli Vanilla for A MONTH.

The only _alcohol_ you'll drink will be Stoli Van, not the only thing, right?

Water and coffee are permissable.

I haven't hooked up my turntable in my new pad, but one of the last records to go on before it was packed was the Was Not Was...
Ronin has among the best car chases ever, and I speak as the owner of both Bullitt and The French Connection. Interestingly, everyone in the movie has a car from a different European make, so there's a BMW, a Mercedes, a Puegeot (FFS), a Saab, etc... Another great car chase in Jackie Chan's "Who am I?" which is OK, otherwise.

So, I have acheived car chase Nirvana via viewing, Bullit, Ronin, and The French Connection?
Supposedly, the guy who did Ronin (?) has directed some web-only BMW commercials that star some up-and-coming heartthrob with great car chases.

If you're looking for a good foot chase, check out the Hungarian movie "Kontroll." It has a totally mind-boggling scene that weaves in and out of the subterranean maze that is the Hungarian subway system. And it's a good movie overall, too.
For car chase scenes, a couple fantastic ones are in "The Blues Brothers" and "The Transporter."

Don't forget the Blues Brothers, Speed and the Dukes of Hazard.
Get my mirror! Where's my ribs!

I often hear debates about what the best car chase is, and people usually point to The French Connection as the best, and Bullitt as number 2. I think Ronin is better, and there are other greats out there, Blues Brothers?

I posted my Blues Brothers bit below, before I read MrMr's post.

good call on the blues brothers
"I'll take four fried chickens and toast."
"You better think!"

I always liked that Aretha did "You Better Think" rather than "Respect."

Both French Connection and Bullitt were mentioned on the back porch last night, too.

I read the not Cheadle book of "Crash." It was all about f'ing gashes after car wrecks.

What about "Convoy," "Any Which Way But Loose," and all those Burt Reynolds movies with Sammy Davis, Jr.?!

Never saw the movie. Not sure if I still own the book; I think I sold it before leaving Boston.
