I've always though of "laundromat" as the word with the widest variation in the way it's actually spelled ("laundramat," "laundermat,"), but I've come to the conclusion that the most protean word is actually Portobello Portabella Portabello Portobella

I've always been partial to the "Washeteria" in the background in "Rushmore." I'm not impartial to mushrooms. There are lots of them growing at my duplex.
