It's all coming together

So, looks like I may be getting some free appliances for my place! Turns out it's good to know people who know people who are getting rid of stuff. I'm going to check them out in the morning and hopefully move them by tomorrow night. By then, my walls will be ready to paint, and the floors should be done! This weekend I plan to paint everything and start moving my furniture in. Hooray! At the very least I'll paint the closets this weekend and scrub out the kitchen cupboards to put stuff in them. Just about everything else I own is boxed and already in the garage as of yesterday morning. I'm meeting with another electrician this evening to get an second estimate and hope to feel confident plugging in my tv and computer in a matter of days!

Eliza and I just picked up Mimi and Bert's old couch. Yes, it's nice to have friends who have extra stuff. Getting said couch was not easy, removing her front door (unscrewing the hinges as we couldn't pry out the bolt) and cleaning out Douglass (tgl's favorite dust artist) Weathersby's S-10 pick-up. Speaking of which, here's Douglass's new project.

I've got my sister's old couch, that my brother used for several years. It's kind of small, but it's been home to my channel surfing ass for several months now. Most of my stuff's now at my house, just a few big things, kitchen stuff, and odds and ends left to shift. Turns out I'm also getting several appliances for free! I think I'm going to hire movers for a couple of hours to pick it all up and move it in. Will save a lot of effort and energy, which is currently lacking. I'm beat from painting rooms all weekend. My bedroom, the living room, hallway, and the bathroom are all painted. I need another quart for the bathroom, though...one didn't quite do it. My sister's over at the house now, scrubbing the cupboards. Hooray!
