Bonds Watch

I saw #713 tonight while I was at Grafton Street Grill. He's going to pss, then tie, Babe Ruth any day now. Jesus. When I was a kid, I always wondered if it would happen during my lifetime, what I'd be doing. Crazy.

I heard Bud Selig on the Red Sox radio telecast last week going on about how MLB doesn't celebrate when players pass the #2 player on a record list and then I am watching the game last night on ESPN and they report that when Bonds is at bat they use specially marked baseballs!! Hey Bud, que pasa? It's been MLB all along that's been overglorifying the home run to create hype. I think that from now on when Bonds homers they should play a clip of him hitting one out when he was in Pittsburgh with "Cheat" by the Clash as the soundtrack.

I completely pulled Lieber off the bench today in my Fantasy League today. Oops. --- Tasters go 9-4-1 against Yoshi in Week 5. The Tasters still top the league, with 5 games between us the Kolletts who went 13-1 against the lowly Warriers last week. Victor Martinez cools off, only hitting .200 for the week. I've put in Dan Uggla as my everyday 2B, instead of Tadahito Iguchi. It may be coin-flip between the two. Arroyo continues to shine, solid starts from Carpenter and Zambrano. --- Oops, that was Jeff Weaver I started. Maybe I missed to the cut-off to make Jon Lieber a starter for today.

Twice in two weeks I forgot to start Schilling. Maybe I'll only do two teams next year.
