First Night

Last night was my first in the new house. Slept like the dead, after I went to the apartment and got toiletries, shower curtain rings, alarm clock and reading lamp for bedtime. Unfortunately, I stayed up too late watching cable, which had just been hooked up at 6pm, and painting another bit of the kitchen. Got to bed close to 1am and up at 6am to meet with the electrician at 7am. He arrived to tell me that he had to postpone AGAIN. We did another walk-through of the house to see what needed wiring and re-wiring, which was good. I'm hoping he'll give me a big discount for being such a flake. I'd love to have some grounded outlets and light switches in the right places by Monday night.

Have you ever seen any of those Larry David episodes where he's all freaked out about his new house making 'house noises'? funny stuff...

I can attest that the first night in a new house is not exactly sweet lullabyes. Even if you are completely exhausted from the past 24 hours of moving.

That may be why I stayed up so late. I kept looking out the windows to see if the neighbors were checking me out. But, the thunderstorm was really loud, too. Lots of rain. Was kind of scared my enormous trees were going to fall on the electrical lines out front...or on me.

Don't think I caught that one. I'll try to find it on the TV. No weird noises inside...just outside. My apartment was noisier, but that's probably because of the rodents.

The second night was not as good as the first. I was up all night with a raging case of food poisoning...I think. In any case I lost a few pounds and got to know my new toilet seat very well.
