Prince (Redux)
so Im going to Prince a week from today (do I want a medal or a chest to pin it on?)
I think I want a medal so I can run against Kerry (just kidding)..
Seriously though, Ive been listening to Lovesexy (that Purple motherfucker put the whole album - 12 or 13 songs on one track - I have to rip the disc on cool edit pro into a big mp3 and divvy it up and then re-burn it - my attention span and the fast forward button on my disc players just wont hold -
This disc was the followup/replacement for the controversial "black album" which was released and then immediately pulled from the shelves, re-released in the late 90s and was quickly rendered out of print.
Its prety dense, strange, funky and fun as opposed to thedark and violent nature of the black album.
Lovesexy yielded Alphabet Street, but other than that I think the radio avoided it like the plague. Their Loss.

Anyone down to meet at a coffee shop post show (approx 10:30 - 11:00 pm?) I saw that there is a Vera's on Causeway st....
Dont know why Im typing like Yoda... must be lack of sleep
After reading that set list I'm thinking about going down there and lokking for a miracle.
I found this place on Causeway st:
Anne-Marie's Place
251 Causeway St
Boston, MA 02114
(617)523-4819
anyone have any ideas?
I think going to the Sox game precludes me from joining you for coffee tomorrow night. Wanna try and see the Metallica film sunday?
At the Fleet, the stage was "In the Round" so seats were spread out accordingly. Stage platform extensions were distributed evenly throughout the circular stage so that all us lucky ticketholders had a good view.
I shit you not: at certain points in the night Maceo Parker was like 8 feet in front of me. Prince's send off of the JB's pass the Peas was a real highlight, as was Soul Man, Satisfaction, and Whole Lotta Love. I always thought Prince was just adept at doing his own stuff. I was way off base with that sentiment though.
Weird Trivia: after the 3 sets he performed ended, he briefly passed out some Jehovah's Witness literature out to the people in front of us. Ill spare everyone the relief of another Music / Celebrity / and Politics thread, but this seemed a little creepy too IMHO.
I haven't seen a band that tight in a while. Even though I had no voice to talk about my excitement after the show, Jackie and I witnessed a great concert event, I wonder when the purple one will be back in Boston (after these 2 subsequent nights which I cant afford) so I can have this much fun again.
