US looks bad in the World Cup

What a disaster. The US knew they needed a draw today, and came out empty. I would guess the US loses to Italy 2-0, and then essentially, they're out. I was pessemistic before the tourney started with the US's group, but this just cemented it. Draw gainst Italy and a win against Ghana?

Czech looked good, and the 6'7" Koller's header for a goal in the 6th minute was a crusher and nearly impossible to defend. Rosicky's first goal was stunning, a knuckleball bullet into the side netting from 25 yards out. But if Renya scores, instead of hitting the post in the 25th minute, and the score becomes 1-1, things would have been different. What if, what if...

Must tie or beat Italy.

Heh. Heh. I beat Italy last night!

Caught the end of the Brasil-Croacia game re-broadcastg on Univision. Sort of thrilling. I was rooting for the Croats, even though they had horrible unis.

Without help from Italy, I guess the US needs at least +4 GF in order to catch the Czech Republic. Otherwise, if Italy beats Czech Republic. Then Italy advances with 7 points. Czech Republic would have 3 points... Then if US beats Ghana, the US would have 4 points...

And after a brilliant tying goal, the ref awards a penalty kick because a Ghana player fell down, and it's 2-1. Total bullshit.

US is spared being humilated by Brazil in the next round. I'm no expert, but I'd bet on a Brazil v. Argentina final.
