Santana's last K of the night is his 1,000. He gets it against Ortiz. Both starters go 8 innings ... is this the first BOSOX extra inning affair of the evening? I shoulda spent another night underneath the Z car, with the radio on. (It runs like a champ, by the way.... no smoke, black or otherwise. Just a horrendous oil leak between the timing chain cover and the block, right behind the oil pump). Also: Timlin's first appearance off the DL?

Last night I'm pulling in my driveway, game on the radio, Joe Castig on the mike, "Here's Ortiz, (voice goes up 3 octaves) THERE'S A LONG DRIVE TO RIGHT CENTER, DEEP, TORI HUNTER LOOKING UP...and he reaches up and makes the catch." Jeezus, Joe, if you shift into the home run call it better be one. It was so deflating.

My wife went to bed during the eighth. "I'll be right up, honey," says I... 2 hours later, I crawl into bed and 5 hours later up with the critter... I should have gone to bed with the lady.
