Good Post.
Have fun, do all the stuff we, on this side of the pond, don't have the stones to do.

Yeah, drink some beer and watch some football for us. We'll be doing it in solidarity with you here.

Travis, where _are_ you going (city)? (if it starts with a B, let us know) In any case, isn't that an Austrian in the front row up there?

im staying in the middle of nowhere - place called essen i think - www.worldcupcamping.com its for my friends bachelor party so dont really have a clue what the itinerary is other than:
1. arrive
2. drink beer
3. pass out
4. repeat
I would be going in my Polska shirt but as about 600 Polish fans have been arrested i might skip that and get a Cote d'Ivoire shirt instead
anyone know how to say "2 world wars and 1 world cup!" in german?

Jealousy is pouring out of my eyeballs right now.

...and the little boy giving the finger is wearing a Rotterdam (Holland) football shirt... although it could be argued that anytime you see a Dutch person giving someone the finger, it's probably a German...
Speaking of Dutch people giving the finger, Ed's on his way out the door wearing his England shirt. Brave, or foolish?
Oh, and by the by - if one is to believe what's printed in The Sun (I do!), you could get arrested for shouting "One World Cup and Two World Wars" in Germany during the Cup. Don't mention ze war.
I rather hope Germany do well, and not only because they have the cutest keeper.

im back - it was fantastic!
have had no sleep, vitamins or non alcoholic beverages for 5 days - campsite turned out to be a scummy rip off so i did my broker bully thing, got all our money back and we went to a hotel in Frankfurt, met some rather cute Lufthansa trolly dollies in a bar and they ended up being our local guides for the weekend. The atmosphere was super friendly - our 22 Carlisle United supporters (my local team) managed to out sing 100 Ecuador fans (with drums) during the match. then we swapped shirts and went and got seriously drunk together.
am thinking of booking a flight to Berlin for the final right now...
