Nary a Red Sox hat northeast of the Danube. I see about 3 NY hats a day, though. * Did I miss the All Star break? * Is David Wells pitching? * How many HRs for Manny? * Have they wrapped up the AL East yet? By the way, Romania has got to be the most enthusiastic American loving country in the EU (at least among countries with pending EU status). Anyone need a stars and stripes bandanna? Would anyone guess that I have seen not less than three (3) box trucks whose cabin rear is draped with Old Glory? Some plastic bag distributor has gotten a deal on American flag imprinted bags with the epithet: "USA (heart) EU". Where the (heart) is in the colors of the Romanian flag.

Heard from Ray from Lynn on WEEI last night: Second half: Red Sox have 8 more home games than road games. Red Sox play Kansas City 9 times out of 76 games, more than 10% of schedule. Yankees and Toronto play each other 14 times in second half. ...reason for optimism, as long as the pitching staff can stay healthy.
