Dig: Why does it sound like in the future, bands are still always writing about girls? BQ: Well, I can’t speak for Rory. But he’s a romantic—a guy with one of the biggest hearts, a really Dickensian character in a sort of Robert Louis Stevenson kind of way. So yeah, he’s the Lothario in the band. I’m the one who’s dropping the real truth. The hardnosed, hardboiled reporting. The politics, the polemics, you name it. I’m the Studs Terkel in the band in a James Agee kind of way. It disturbs me that with everything going on in the world, bands feel the need to keep singing about girls. I mean, Jesus, where the hell are our Arlo Guthries? Our Phil Ochs? Our D. Boons? --- Stunning.

Hm. Interesting question, MF DU. I may very well be confused, seeing as my favorite retort these days tends to be "Suck my big fat dick!" (of which I have none - for the information of those of you who may be unsure, and perhaps even dismayed, at this juncture) However. I do like the idea of a hoo-hoo being universal, a gender-nonspecific tool of sexual gratification. That being said, perhaps the word I was looking for was ding-dong. Or schlong. Or weiner. Or even cock. MF DU, thank you for taking issue with my use of the word hoo-hoo. Without your intervention, my "hoo-hoo" could have become rampant.
