Saturday Afternoon in Allston / Cambridge 10/14/06

Here's the deal, all RSNrs encouraged to come: (the buzzorhowl and MF DU are confirmed for lunch, I believe MF DU is stag for the screening so far) -quick lunch in Allston circa 12:00 noon -trek over to Kendall for a screening of American Hardcore featuring Adolescents, Agnostic Front, Bad Brains, Bad Religion, Black Flag, Circle Jerks, Flipper, Gwar, MDC, Minor Threat, Minutemen, The Misfits, Murphy's Law, Poison Idea, The Replacements, 7 Seconds, Suicidal Tendencies, TSOL, Wasted Youth, Youth Brigade and more. trailer -steel toed boots optional...

In a bid to shift the conversation to hanging out with friends, listening to music, and eating good food instead of arguing endlessly about politics, I hereby bump this thread. The Glob's take was mixed, but I am still way excited. In person, I bathe, don't drool, don't carry firearms, don't argue much with others - so come on down and have a good time, won't you?

I might be up for the movie, depending on what time you're going... I definitely can't make it to Allston by noon, though.

Couldn't make it... This morning's "Tour de Somerville" took much longer than I expected. Was the movie any good?

I spent too long looking @ Sister Souljah thriftstore books, flapping my gums w/ buzzorhowl et al - I got to Kendall too late for the 1:55 - went up going @ the 4:30 solo. I had a lot of fun. Im sure all can guess that I especially enjoyed getting a couple of nuggets of Bad Brains info I didn't know before. Also good seeing more interviews w/ Greg Ginn - it seems other not to be named members of Black Flag wind up getting more camera time. Other highlights included the Nig Heist, more Mike Watt driving around in his band, Boston / Taang tomfoolery, the awesome force of Flipper, hearing the story of handgluing and scisorring 10,000 Dischord 7"'s, and looking at a lot of people's huge record collections behind them as they talked thinking to myself ("Hey Im not the only freak around here...")... I would reccomend it - unless it makes a buttload of cash (which I doubt) It's scheduled run is a week, so last chance'll probably be this upcoming Thursday night. After that, I'm sure it will be available on DVD shortly. Good times.

When I saw the film, I yelled: "Mugger is drinking MERLOT." Rachman said that Mugger wanted to be portrayed like that. What a trip.
