UNH

Took the Downeaster to UNH on Friday for an Archivists' conference-- a good, nerdy time had by all. Highlights: *Staying in the swish New England Center on Harvard's dime *Dinner at "Mike Libby's" with Amanda-- what was this one called before? I think they had Quarter beers on Thursdays? *The big belly laugh everyone shared whenever a Archivists conference speaker mentioned entering the cheerleader conference happening the same weekend *Deciding that I would walk to the New England Center from Libby's because I knew the campus like the back of my hand. Ending up soaked in the middle of East BF asking for directions *The Special Collections exhibits on UNH parking and energy, which included a cartoon that I remembered from TNH and some Seabrook protest posters *Seeing the new building that replaced Signma NU *Smoking a commemorative sigarette on the steps of Ham Smith. Aaah, memories. 2006 is the 10 year graduation anniversary for many of us, eh?

Sad that Carl is not out there making Snotties. What has the world come to, anyhoo?

Posted by G lib on 2006-10-23 15:34:20 +0000
No snotties, but apparently there are a new crop of Carl's out there-- kind of like spores.

We must never let the idea of cheese covered french fries die. We must pass it on to our children and our children's children...

Can we then cover them in gravy? Ayuh?

I hooked up my turntable to my clock radio in the basement yesterday. Needless to say, my son _loves_ Ungh! Dances all over the place to Skate Afrikaana. Listen all the way through the record twice each time. Anyone have this in digital format? I would love to share it with The People. Also, I've got my laptop hooked up to my home stereo right now, and listening to Wally Pleasant from The People via VPN and wireless... geeky?

You could have stopped with Wally Pleasant.

Eh!

intestines?

I was just singing some Wally Pleasant last weekend to my girlfriend. We saw this sweet late-90's Cutlass Cruiser for sale in Lowell. Simulated wood.... panelin' I really need to get a GM wagon....

Stick with Ford.

Posted by ConorClockwise on 2006-10-24 16:42:20 +0000
10D knows I love my Ford, but I like my simulated wood this way...

But, I love the giant droopy asses of the late 90's Roadmasters and Caprices.

Nothing rules as hard as the Plymouth Colt DL I used @ UNH...

We have a winner. Nothing was more ridiculous than the 90's Caprice family.

tommy, there is a special place in my heart for the Chuck Wagon, too. Austin had one that looked exactly like this when we lived at 5 Malbert. So did Gretel, except hers was older and greyer, and wasn't a woody. And Chippy sometimes brought his chuck wagon that we called "The Gnu" down from NH when he visited-- I think they were all different brands, but basically the same car. It was pretty sweet to have three chuck wagons parked in the driveway-- it was almost like we were some kind of Chuck Wagon gang. Or we were having a Chuck Wagon fanciers convention. Memories...

I'll take an 80's w/ simu-wood (and V-8 engine package), thank you. But it's still an GM...

  1. I love rabbit pickups.
  2. Why are you talking about your car in the poutine thread?

Posted by MF DU on 2006-10-25 13:39:15 +0000
I am guessing that 10 D likes everything in its right place.
