I take it back, PChippy wins...

PChippy's gym teacher in middle school (in the early 80s) asked kids to bring in records so that they could do calisthenics to music-- in an attempt to make gym class 'cooler.' Everyone brought in their disco records, and the teacher would pick one or two kids and their records to lead the calisthenics to their favorite song. I imagine that most of them pretended that they were John Travolta and Jamie Lee Curtis in "Perfect." Chippy, who hated disco music, took his teacher at his/her word. He brought in in his favorite Russian Folk tunes record to lead the calisthenics. "It would be perfect! It's very energetic music, good to get the blood pumping-- exactly what calisthenics are supposed to do!" He and his record didn't get picked. Today he is still angry and disappointed that the teacher hid his record at the bottom of the pile and didn't play it. "It's very energetic music! Good for jumping up and down to!" Frankly, I think that his teacher did it out of pity.

Lorbering: "Perfect" is a fantastic movie-- if you look closely, about half the time you can almost see Travolta's junk hanging out of his short-shorts as he's sweating to Jamie Lee Curtis' aerobics class. It's in the same category as Xanadu, but with not nearly as many lasers. Priceless!

I have caught a few clips late at night here and there. It is hard to argue w/ G lib on this.

I was looking for Youtube videos of JT in "Perfect" (there aren't any), but came up with this instead: The description: I have NO clue how I discovered this (and NO I wasn't high!!!!) Back when I was in high school in the early 90s, I apparently had a lot of time on my hand because I found that this song worked PERFECTLY to this video clip... It's pretty awesome, and work-safe...

What about Stayin Alive?

So great! The song is "Hernando's Hideaway" from the "Pajama Game." I was in that play my senior year in college and my character was deemed too wholesome to be in that scene. I was crushed. The costume was going to a-mazing.

I agree with you. Had Chippy succeeded in leading the class in calisthenics to Russian folk music, however, it would have made a great outtake from Welcome to the Dollhouse.

That was a fantastic movie.

It was a painfully fantastic movie.
