Transformers are to Gobots as Vice is to Cracked

I like the analogy, but were gobots older, then resurrected ala Cracked?

I remember gobots were around before transformers - I dont know if they were resurrected - I suspect not.

I didnt know cracked went away though.

I would only buy cracked as a kid if things got really tight (i.e. the newstand was out of or already had the most current issue of MAD, it was parodying a particular film I liked, rtc.)

I think I am more confused than when I started, but here is some more <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Go-bots#Toy_line">info</a>.

<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transformers_%28toy_line%29">Wow</a>:
"Most of the subsequent character names and profiles throughout the original run were done by the primary Transformers US comic book writer, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Budiansky">Bob Budiansky</a>."
Yep, brother of Gary Butt-in-sky's.
