Solar power almost reaching 24% efficency

I heard about these this spring from a friend who works with windmills. Essentially, it's just a Stirling engine running on the sun's rays, but these happen to be quite small, and clearly less monstrous than windmills (even though I love windmills).

Infinia is targeting 3 kilowatts systems, an average residential home, and can be used anywhere the sun shines. I want to be off the grid... wait, I want to stop paying rent first.

Wow - those do look cool.

Off the grid does sound like a good time.

I can't wait to put one of those on my house. I wonder if they could somehow get satellite radio as well.

At 15' tall, these are not all that subtle for home-usage, but they are a very interesting alternative. It became viable, I'd want one in my back yard...good excuse to cut down my pathetic silver maple.
