Hoping to have a new/used car by the end of this week!

Roasted a chicken and corrected papers.

Raked Leaves for two days straight, saw 'Borat', played Lego Star Wars, played with Maddie Nigs...

Worked at the restaurant. Casted a few molds. Went to a party at a McMansion in Beverly. Party included a hired harp player, many discussions on private aircraft, analysis of my high school yearbook, and dozens of snow crab legs.

'Lego Star Wars' as in the video game? I believe our CPFMATT friend, Marc, found that game to be the tipping point for him and video games, meaning too much time spent playing them. After finishing that game, he has since sold his gaming systems and dozens of games, except his Tony Hawk games.

Caught up on some much needed rest.

That game makes you lose time. You sit down, and suddenly its like 4 hours later.

alphabetized my drum and bass records...hung out at the Gatchell VFW Post #306 in Pawtucket, rockin' time...

Just like heroin, I must say I'm curious...

Meant to rake leaves...that's why I got the wheelbarrow...to transport them to the compost heap...which I don't turn often enough and seems to sink back into nothingness.

Posted by tgl on 2006-11-06 17:27:39 +0000
Umm, that sounds like a proper compost heap.

Went to The Legendary Shack Shakers/Rev Horton Heat at the Middleeast, watched The Prarie Home Companion, drank beers at McCormick and Schmitt's! (2.00 happy hour!)

I'm really trying. I freeze the veggies and leftovers I want to take out there then do it all at once. Right now there are lots of leek tops, old potatoes, onion and garlic peels and ends, stale bread and unpopped corn kernels...along with some inedible polenta I attempted. Hopefully the microbes will dig on the goat cheese and butter mixed in there.

Me, too. Slept about 12 hours on Saturday night. Much needed.

Fats aren't so good in the compost bin.

How about this for ROCK OUT WITH YOUR COCK OUT! 1. Community Garden meeting at 9:00 AM on Saturday-- weeded, moved compost, planted and pulled bulbs, and picked up trash for 5 hours 2. Baby shower for Jess Wrath of Khan (Pamsterdam, did you know that she was preggers?) in East BF RI on Sunday afternoon. Lots of cooing over presents, light blue colored streamers and baloons, and some carrot dish made with velveta (it actually was pretty tasty) THE FUCKING DEVIL!!!!

Posted by tgl on 2006-11-07 13:41:26 +0000
Did you put the basil stealer in stocks at the CG meeting?

Posted by Miriam on 2006-11-07 14:13:40 +0000
Public garden stealing=Public flogging/embarrassment.

Posted by Miriam on 2006-11-07 14:15:09 +0000
There's not much cheese out there. Besides, I produce so little waste that I figure I need to feed whatever bugs are hungry.

...attended 2 college hockey games and my cousin's wedding, watched Borat movie, overhauled my rear derailleur and cassette, ate 3/4 of a pecan pie, and reduced the amount of squealing coming from my alternator belt.

Was the baby shower as weird as her bridal shower?

Posted by tgl on 2006-11-07 14:54:39 +0000
...drove into town, twice. Fixed the door locks on the Z, inhaled way too much carbon monoxide trying to tune the carbuerators. Gave BH the "Full-Lynn". Saw "Borat". Raked leaves. Transfered worms to a secure location (raccoons are the new jihadists).

...got hammered playing pool with Indian interloper; made lunch for my sis and her family and played in the back yard leaves with the little ones; mowed leaves into lawn; made burritos, quesadillas, pancakes, sushi and linguini with clam sauce, in no particular order; watched "Totally Awesome" which was mediocre at best; hung a pegboard for my tools and a magnetic whiteboard for the critter in the basement

Posted by G lib on 2006-11-07 16:41:57 +0000
I don't remember going to the bridal shower. Did you go? Where was it?

Posted by pamsterdam on 2006-11-07 20:55:01 +0000
I cannot imagine Jessica Rath pregnant! Wow. Weird. Please give her my congrats, and a big smackeroo from me. I spent the weekend with the (very extended) in-laws, most of whom are all in cahoots trying to change me & Ed into Dorset-dwelling expectant parents. My latest nephew is almost unbearably cute. I really wanted to take him home with us to Amsterdam. But as I'm not lactating, I very much doubt he'd come willingly...

Posted by Miriam on 2006-11-07 21:46:12 +0000
You were definitely there...I think I drove you me and Jenny. We left with soap. Mine was blue. It was in East Warwick maybe? In the back of a restaurant...there were lots of aunts and cousins.

Posted by Miriam on 2006-11-07 21:47:52 +0000
Where are you getting pegs to hang your tools on? I have a massive amount of pegboard lining the walls of my garage and I can't find the pegs at Home Depot or Lowe's.

Okay, the mechanic's report came out pretty good. Need $300-500 worth of work on the car, including a motor mount (seems like their my albatross of motor vehicles), and they might want to buy my car for parts! Sweet!!!! Hoping the seller will call me back tonight and that I'll have a sweet new-ish ride by the end of the week! Here's hoping.

Posted by tendiamonds on 2006-11-08 12:40:20 +0000
Home Depot. Ask for assistance.

Posted by Miriam on 2006-11-08 13:21:08 +0000
They gave me an address of a commercial warehouse supplier...they don't carry the ones I want.

Posted by Miriam on 2006-11-09 16:23:43 +0000
Negotiations broke down over the car. Doesn't look like I'll own this one by the end of the week.
