Bush said just last week that Rumsfeld would be around for the entire second term. Did he just "flip flop"? I hope it wasn't in response to poll numbers. I can't stand these spineless politicians that do what the polls tell them to do, not what they think is right.

Maybe I'm being too harsh. It would appear that Rumsfeld's resignation has been on the table since at least mid-summer (and he's also offered to resign a few times in the past).

Bush was merely lying for political gain when he claimed that Rumsfeld would be around for the remainder of his adminstration. How refreshing.
