Tom Wolfe "Hooking Up"

Got this collection of non-fiction for $5 USD @ the Christmas Tree Shops Today... Did anyone read the excerpt from Wolfe's new novel in the "Doonesbury" Rolling Stone from late July? I cant remember what the book (set to street in Novemeber) is called, but I guess our septagenarian friend spent 2+ years hanging out with University frat kids to write the book. I felt like a freshman @ UNH going to parties all over again after reading this...

"Hooking Up" was pretty good, as was 'Bonfire of the Vanitites' and all the reporting he did that I read. 'Man In full' was okay, but there were whole chapters I skipped to read this one plotline (the prison one) first.

Correction: I guess there is some fiction in 'Hooking Up' after a little more perusal. I took a long time to finish 'A Man In Full' because of the divergent plot lins you are speaking of. Conrad's prison break and subsequent lifestyle with immigrant families on the run was my favorite storyline as well.
