RIP Re:generation Records

From Sue, one of the owners: Yes, its not a joke this time. The record store is gone gone gone. No more. The stage is destroyed and in the dumpster, the record racks are in my warehouse. Records have been listed on ebay. How sad is that? Don't get me started...I will cry! This post is to say if anyone wants anything from the store, not records and books since they are gone, but fixture type stuff...chairs, window displays, etc. please come down to the store by sunday and get it. I would rather people who loved the store own this stuff than throw it out. Before a terrible rumor thread starts on WHY we are closing, I will tell you. After the shows ended in June, the record store suffered, as well as the finances. The tattoo shop carried the store and it was in bad shape; falling apart, needing new paint, fixtures, etc. We decided to remove the records and put money into adding more tattoo booths and fixing up the place, which would cost an insane amount of money, which we dont have. Ross and I are just burned out, broke and ready to end this before it destroys us. Thank you, everyone for you support and kindness. please feel free to stop by or call if you have any questions. I promise to post more info as I know it, I just cant deal with that right now. thanks, sue 617-782-1313 store

b/o/h: why haven't we talked about opening a record store?

Can I be in on this if I stay in the back room and shut the fuck up about politics?

It's too bad records stores don't make any money, because I can't imagine anyone better suited to run a record store than MF DU.

Stopped at the new CHEAPO Records location in Central Sq. this evening (old Skippy White's). Much smaller space than the underground location (are they still underground?) and a consistently bad selection. Picked up Jamal at the Penthouse for $5.99.

I'd love to run a record store, but it's a risky time.

that is quite possibly the greatest compliment I have heard in a long time. Thanks Glib! :)
