Indiana Jones IV = Confirmed

With Lucas, Ford, and Spielberg. Filming this summer. Due out Summer '08?

Here's my guess: Memorial Day 1977 - Memorial Day 2007 = 30 years since theatrical release of Lucasfilm's Star Wars. Good opportunity to release the entire 6 films into one box set in HD DVD / BLU Ray format for all the techno geeks, no? The original theatrical trilogy released last fall without any enhanced special effects from the "Special Editions" was an almost exact clone of the 1993 laserdisc edition - it was widescreen, but not formatted for today's 16:9 anamorphic standard. Therefore, if you want to see Han shoot first and you happen to be watching on a widescreen TV, you are still going to get black bars (not to mention an uncleaned up telecine transfer from 1993). My guess is that anamorphic original trilogies are just a matter of time. At any rate, come Memorial Day, Im guessing there will be an announcement that the uber star Wars box set will (convieniently) be in stores for XMAS time 2007 complete with 'Indiana Jones' 2008 trailer Maybe another Indiana Jones Reissue in HDDVD / Blu Ray with more deleted scenes. I hate to admit that I love this stuff. rest assured, I will be looking at Digital Bits periodically to stay informed... Anyone see Lucas, Stormtroopers et. al during the Parade of Roses yesterday before USC / Michigan? It was ok.

I've always liked Indiana Jones better than Star Wars.

Fair enough - I'm sensing synergy, that's all. At any rate, hopefully it will be cool. Excited to go to the movies when there is a new Dr. Jones flick.

My $.02? The Indiana Jones series got worse as they put out more of them. Great character, but man, that third installment is pretty lousy. "Raiders of the Lost Ark" is, IMHO, Spielberg's best movie, with "Close Encounters" a very close second.

Romney agrees. But all-time favorite?

Based on that post, the only candidate who is tough and going to the mattresses is Guiliani. Just when we thought he was out, he pulled us back in! BTW: Spielberg has also confirmed that when Indy IV is off his plate, he has a pending Abraham Lincoln biopic on the horizon with Liam Neeson as honest Abe. From past reports the film is based at least in part on Doris Kearns Goodwin's Team Of Rivals. Fantastic book if anyone is looking for reccomendations.

Decent list of films, btw. They might all be in my top 20, though I haven't seen 'Viva Zapata'.

Someone ask me if I'm surprised Clinton picked "Casablanca"? . . . No, it's completely safe.

Cate Blanchette has been cast in Indiana Jones IV and there have been rumors that actor Shia Leboeuf is playing Indy's son. In other Lucas news, the US Post Office will unveil SW stamps in May. I love the smell of marketing synergy in the morning - here comes the 30th anniversary of Star Wars - I'm guessing this is the diving board they will use to launch the 30th anniversary DVDs. Maybe a Indy IV trailer on the boxset since the 2 franchises are run by Lucasfilm?

Indy V: the Revenge of Lucasfilm! Luke Skywalker goes back in time to defeat the ancestors of the Emperor, and meets up with Indiana Jones as he materializes in the Nile delta. They have a helluva time taking down Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Robot King of the Egyptians!

Bad SW (Non-Taz)

I know huh - God Forbid an original story be made without numerals after the title. Still - I am definitely a part of the problem as I love to follow this stuff around :)

Oh, I'm definitely all over Indy IV. I love that shit.

Should we tell Deval Patrick and Thomas Menino that these aren't bombs?

Looking about as spry as Stallone in Rocky Balboa. Oh well, at least this production of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull will have writers with better track records.

Come to think of it - I drove past some guy on the Mass pike this morning near Worcester driving an Iroc Z blasting 100.1 the Pike - I'm pretty sure it was Shia.

I think this one was pretty much agreed upon and kinks worked-out before the writers strike.
