This Hoopty post made me think of at least two rs.n members.

There's been a dearth of Hoopty Rides posts lately. This one's decent. Now that eveyone knows I'm about to have a kid, I can post about the replacement for the Subaru... I'd like to think it'll be another Legacy, but "refreshed" into this century; here's a great post on Subies. While I haven't _yet_ put the lift kit in my '95 I could start my run at my father's continuous Make/Model record. Barry Diamonds has an impressive stretch of Mercury Sables (and give it up for the Sable over the Taurus) my Dad's four Buick Century wagons since 1986 counts for something. But back to Mister Jalopy, the 300 TD has _got_ to be a family car, right?

(Of course): Geez, I'd hope it's only three Buicks over the past twenty years. But then again, it's GM. I've already gotten ten years out of one Subaru.

If you're still looking to get rid of it, let me know....

After a week and a half of taking son number one to daycare in the minivan, I never want to put him in the wagon again. I'm a big fan, however of my Passat, and I found its ability to go up my old driveway in deep snow to be comparable to my pop's Outback, (for which he gave up on Sables; and that's Barry Diamonds to, Mr Rosetta) which is to say it is far superior to my sister's Legacy. Tommy thinks you should get one of these: But that's only because he's tired of having a proper 1970's automobile, like this one:

Assuming your sister still has the mid-90s Legacy with the automatic transmission, then I'm sure the (newer?) Outback is a definite upgrade.

Indeed, Sis's car is the same as yours, with the auto and off by one year, I don't remember which way. I tried each of them up my old driveway on separate occasions of virgin powder of at least 6 inches. 90's Legacy is the only one that didn't make it. The 2000 Tacoma with 4WD was _not_ as good as the other wagons, but did make it up. The Focus had trouble with 2 inches.

No, I think I should get one of those.

Often, back in 1998, "The Malbert" had three different models of chuck wagons parked in the driveway at the same time, although The Bag-meister was the only one with the Caprice Classic woody. tommy probably would have creamed his pants looking at that sight to behold...
