Anchorman
Has anyone seen the legend of Ron Burgundy? Thinking about seeing it for cheap at the Slummaville Theater...

haven't seen this, but Ferrell's turn / cameo in Starsky and Hutch (the L.Wilson / B.Stiller / V.Vaughn / S.Dogg vehicle ) is definitely worth a netflix / rental / what have you. Homosexual Dragon tatoo artist biker dudes rule.

Ferrell was the "surprise" guest on the last Late Late Show w/ Craig Kilbourn on Friday night. Kilbourn was plowing through a bottle of scotch. Ferrell was a bit predictable. He's funny, but I don't understand is current popularity. Maybe it's just the stick. Not that Dan Akroyd or John Belushi or Chevy Chase are (were) that far reaching in their routines, but they seemed to have more than one trick. All the ex-SNL people seem to have one character, and that's all you get. I'd rather see a comedy with one of the Wilson brothers, or even Jason Lee, instead.

OK, I'd rather not see a comedy right about now.
No wait... "Napoleon Dynamite" was great.

Decent effort. Not Will Farrel's best by any means, and after watching this, I began to wonder if Farrel can carry a movie. I loved him in Old School and Zoolander, but he was a side character. Maybe I should see Elf before I critique on Will's lead roles.
Anyhoo, Christina Applegate does a great job as the sexy anchor, troubled by the sexism of the early 70's. (always liked her) And Farrel's advances toward her are some of the highlights. Another is Steve Carell as Brick Tamland, the idiot. I now dumb jokes are dumb, but I found myself laughing at him most often. Fred Willard was OK as the TV station boss, but nothing like his role in "A Mighty Wind." Classic Hollywood ending, leaves you a bit peved.
