Roller Coasters in da New Yorker
Good piece in the current (Aug.30) New Yorker about "The new Golden age of Roller Coasters." Lot's about Cedar Point.... That's my next Coaster destination.

When Jackie, Maddie and I were in Ohio this summer we ALMOST went, but due to time, family, age and geographical factors, we chickened out. cedar Point has been in my mental list of "things to do before I die" since I was Like 15 (almost 15 years ago - eep)
This sounds to me like a potential road trip
(what did we decide about going to see the Kerouac On the road Scrolls BTW?)
P.S. I will stick to music, reading, the alphabet game and crosswords in the car. (maybe bridge IF , and this is a big IF, the zealots on this board have the time and patience for a newbie :) No big long political dissections in the car thank you -its more fun in this forum :)
NP: Bjork Medulla (very softly so as not to disturb my oh-so valued customers)

February/March. We haven't picked a specific date yet.
Yowza! This is going to be fun.

Cedar Point will not be open in February or March. Most seasonal parks are only open weekends in May and October, and then open 7 days a week in the summer. Cedar Point opened May 8th this year.

Pretty certain you'll need a healthy dose of Chapstick(tm) after riding the Millenium Force. In February. Over Lake Erie.
Additionally, not as many high schoolers in tank tops. ...Now that I'm 30, that joke isn't quite as funny.

This is not rollercoaster season... Maybe it'll be two trips to Iowa?

well now I never suggested we make 2 trips to Iowa. Again, my attempts at being humorous have been futile.

Cedar Point ain't Iowa, G.

I understand it is in the grand OH state, but Glibby said:

Ohio, Iowa, what's the G-D difference between the two? I'm just saying "Long road trip to someplace in the middle."
When I dig out my calendar, we shold schedule this AND the Pixies show!
