Check out these photos of what I found this morning in my bathroom. I have a call in to my insurance agent to see if they'll cover the cost of removing my floor and repairing damage and replacing the floor. Oy.

Don't eat the mushrooms, Alice!

Yeah, this is worse than the car thing...or the sewer line thing, although it might be related to the latter. Again, oy.
My insurance guy hasn't called me back since we spoke this morning, but he told me to take a few more photos, and bleach the hell out of it. Then get an estimate from a company that dries out crawlspaces and basements (to see if there's a slow leak), then rip out and replace the floor.
Oy. Oy!

My first thought was, "What, Miriam didn't notice the mushrooms until she was halfway through giving herself a haircut?" And then I remembered that her hair is very curly. And then I looked at the enlarged photos...
...now I can't close my mouth again. Grrrreat!

So far they haven't come back. There's an inspector coming tomorrow to tell me if my crawlspace is okay...they're pretty thorough, so if there's wetness under my bathroom I'm going to have to do some surgery on my house. Lame. Especially since insurance won't pay for it. What do I pay those fools for anyway?! Guess it's in case any of the large trees surrounding my place fall on it. Or if one of the tornadoes that happen through the neighborhood spring and fall take my house to Kansas. Whatever, it's still a scam, and we all buy into it. Literally.
