That last photo of jbcrdinale and Ms. Epoisses is some sort of Badasssss. (extra s's intentional) . Pop's quote of the evening: "We're here tonight to TRANSCEND"! Dancing on stage at the Orpheum and singing / screaming into Pop's mic = the best $45 ticket ever spent. My Idea of fun is DÜing everyone...

I forgot that he gave you the mic. priceless.

As discussed afterwards, interesting that they only played songs from the first two Stooges albums and the new record. Saxophonist who played the show was Steve McKay, who played on Funhouse. It was a return to the original Stooges sound. It never felt contrived or nostalgic. Actually the way they came out played the first side of Funhouse, with "I Wanna Be Your Dog" in there somewhere, really kicked ass.

This Dig interview explains a little about the song choice.

Nice... can't believe you took him that joint.

Not the one that you and I went to, but the one on Beech Street.

Thanks to Watt, here is the NPR link to a full recent Stooges performance @ Washington DC's 9:30 club. Making a cd of it right now... Language Advisory: This unedited concert recording contains language that is not suitable for all audiences.
