The daily newspapers of Metro Boston on April 17th 2007.
1)
After flipping through 3 pages of death and blood from Virginia Tech in the 'Metro', on page 4 I see Epoisses's face with the caption:
"I'm into [boston] + [anti-pop]
Michael gets you the inside scoop on Boston's anti-pop scene... texted FREE to your phone."
Not surprised, but caught me off-guard.
2)
The Globe's Charlie Savage won the Pulitzer Prize for National Reporting for his revelations on Bush's unprecedented frequency of using signing statements to bypass American law on torture, spying, and imprisoning people without charges. I couldn't be more pleased this is getting even more press.
3)
A new free daily rag, 'Boston Now' was launched today, issue 001, volume 001. A tad thin, but it looks to be a more interactive 'Metro'. Outlook grim.
a) can the quality of the journalism possibly get any worse than the Metro with their 'real' reporters? There are malapropisms and typos everywhere. It's horrific.
b) how can labor get any cheaper than actual reporters who do a good job? They get paid about $.02 an hour.
And in answer to your question about what they eat, the answer is beer.

I, however, eat salad last.
Just saying if waiter at some run of the mill restaurant I would go to in a typical day brings out salad before a meal Im not going to ask him to take it away and bring it back after the meal, or provide him /her with some elaborate set of instructions.
If it gets there early, I can just hang onto it and eat it after meal, but if everyone else is eating and there is a plate of salad in front of me, I will eat salad then and there. I dont feel like sitting there without eating while everyone else is - When in Rome, you know?
