Should we try and do both? What's the ticket strategy going to be?

Posted by rladew on 2004-09-03 13:42:17 +0000
yes. both. I will get tix for one if someone else gets tix for the other... Most of the other dates have hade "pre-sale" dates through the pixies website, so we should watch it like a hawk to make sure we get choice seats. (I got 2nd row Prince Seats by using this startegy :) who knows if the Tsongas will be Gen Admission though, God I hope not.

In 13 minutes, I'm buying four tix to the Mullin's Center show at UMass. Never been there....

Posted by dawnbixtler on 2004-09-07 15:54:08 +0000
Four (4) tickets purchased and confirmed for Nov. 30th at the Mullin's Center!!! General admission. Boo Not sure why they let me buy them seven minutes early...

Posted by tgl on 2004-09-07 16:06:15 +0000
Should I be getting tickets? Tsongas Arena? Hammerstein Ballroom? Do I really like the Pixies that much?

Posted by G lib on 2004-09-07 19:06:57 +0000
Dawn, does this include one for the G(ipper)? So we have UMASS down, who's trying for Lowell and when? Honor's interested in coming to that show.

Posted by G lib on 2004-09-07 19:09:40 +0000
Oh! Snap! (Actually, this post was a result of me being too quick on the trigger, this (my first) "Oh Snap!" was actually a mistake.

per pixiesmusic.com openers at Tsongas will be mission of burma and the bennies. h

Mullins center sold out! Have I heard "the Bennies?" Quick, someone hum me something....

Posted by frame609 on 2004-09-07 20:04:08 +0000
Yo everyone- try and get tickets tomorrow at noon for December 1st! I'm going to buy a bunch.

Posted by rladew on 2004-09-07 21:06:04 +0000
I will buy 4 tix for Lowell tommorow... Clarification Request on the sold out Mullins Thing: That means Pre Sale has Sold out - If its Gen admission _ spose it doesn't matter if you get em now or on Saturday (correct me if Im wrong here) Should I make arrangements for a Mullins ticket on Saturday or does someone have my back up in this piece?

Posted by frame609 on 2004-09-07 21:07:55 +0000
I'd like to go to both, but I'm going to make my birthday (the first) the priority show. Regular tickets go on sale Saturday, you say?

Posted by dawnbixtler on 2004-09-07 21:14:06 +0000
Right now 2 out of 4 tix claimed (Me and G). I suppose we might need more Mullins if others interested....

Posted by tgl on 2004-09-07 21:26:06 +0000
Yeah I'll do that (Mullins Center). I'll pick up more if need be...

Posted by rladew on 2004-09-07 21:52:06 +0000
I'm still confused. Mike F says He has bought 4 tickets and that Mullins is Priority. I offered to get 4 Lowell tix tommorow Which I am still planning to do unless someone else says otherwise. I did read the Mullins post that 2 have been claimed, I am just trying to find out if, in addition to getting Lowell tix if I need to take ownership for getting a Mullins ticket or if someone could help me with that. Either way is totally cool, I just want to make sure I understand...

Posted by rladew on 2004-09-07 21:57:45 +0000
Ok. I think I get it. sorry. Dec 1st is Lowell, not Mullins, and Mike F was saying if he has to choose between the 2, he'll go for Lowell. We introduced a new website platform @ Fidelity today and clients have been yelling at me all day long (I guess its not that much different from posting on this board :)

Posted by dawnbixtler on 2004-09-07 22:02:12 +0000
3 out of 4 tix claimed (me, G, tgl)....

Posted by frame609 on 2004-09-08 18:40:58 +0000
I don't actually have tickets yet- I tried to get 'em for 12/1 today but they were sold out. I'm going to get on Saturday morning and see if I can get tickets when they go on sale proper.

Posted by Rory_Stark on 2004-09-08 18:45:08 +0000
Shits and dick I totally forgot. I need a ticket. Are they really only 35 bucks?

Posted by dawnbixtler on 2004-09-08 19:05:36 +0000
after taxes and delivery ONLY $41.00! I bet they were like $5.00 at the Rat....

Posted by dawnbixtler on 2004-09-09 03:11:19 +0000
All four of my Mullins tix claimed (G,tgl, E, me) Is Lowell still possible?

Posted by tgl on 2004-09-09 03:39:59 +0000
Pre-sale is done. I'll pick up a handful of GA when they go on sale.

Posted by frame609 on 2004-09-09 07:13:23 +0000
I think it's Saturday at ten.

Posted by G lib on 2004-09-09 13:14:26 +0000
That's Frame609's way of saying, "TerryG, can you please pick up tickets? I haven't seen 10:00 AM for the past 10 years. I'm starting to doubt that it exists!"

Posted by tgl on 2004-09-09 13:30:42 +0000
Oh!

Posted by rladew on 2004-09-09 16:00:08 +0000
I was aiming to get 4 Lowells on Wednesday, but my workplace blocksout the Pixies site, and when I got home it was sold out. I will try again when public tix go on sale Sat, but could I trade one of my Lowellsfor somebody's Mullins? Lemme know :)

Posted by frame609 on 2004-09-09 17:21:51 +0000
I was up at the un-rockstar hour of six on Tuesday, AND I had gone to sleep before it! (Before that, though, it had been a while.)

Posted by rladew on 2004-09-11 14:01:31 +0000
Success! The Saturday Tix thing worked! I have 2 Lowell tix and 2 Mullins tix. I still wasnt sure who was who and what was what. I am going to try to go to both shows, but no one has spoken for the other tix. I dont bite, I shower, and I dont talk politics at shows, so I would be happy to go along w/ anyone :) lemme know!

Posted by tgl on 2004-09-11 14:17:45 +0000
Mullins was sold-out (at least for 4 tickets) on ticketmaster.com. I did get four (4) Lowell tickets. I think these are the standings: Mullins: Ned (4), Rich (2) Lowell: Terry (4), Rich(2)

can we facilitate a Mike F is 31 bash for the UMASS show? Monson MA is aboot 3o mins. from UMASS so all are welcome to see the new living space (which is in disarray at the moment..)

Posted by frame609 on 2004-09-12 05:00:01 +0000
I got six tickets for the Lowell show today.

Posted by rladew on 2004-09-21 11:11:58 +0000
Tix for Lowell and Amherst are in hand thanks to the postal service (thats a federal taxpaying expense isn't it - oh wait - wrong thread - sorry!) Let the planning begin...

Posted by tgl on 2004-09-21 14:24:53 +0000
It's not that you shouldn't post taxpayer jokes outside of the politics thread, it's that you're wrong!. The USPS made $3.8 billion in 2003, and they haven't made a funds appropriation request since 1982. Although, they have received reimbursements for sending Congressional mail and the anthrax (not the band!) investigations of 2001. Anyone read the SPIN cover story on the Pixies?

Posted by rladew on 2004-09-21 14:36:21 +0000
I stand humbly corrected. Send my apologies to the postmaster general :)

Posted by frame609 on 2004-09-21 18:20:23 +0000
I got my tickets in the mail yesterday!
