Please Note that there was a Derek Bailey track of "Stella By Starlight" off of his Tzadik album 'Ballads' that followed the Bumps to close out the show. (Me being stupid with the playlist software - I am still acclimating)

This show is my offer for mitigating the pain in Comerica park last night...

UNGH! Haha.

Shouldn't there be an asterisk next to the PJs?

Posted by MF DU on 2007-07-08 16:29:21 +0000
Indeed - the lack of asterisk can also be chalked up to the ineptitude of the DJ learning the playlist software program. Stupid DJ. I have now edited my initial blogpost.

I should also probably add that it is unlikely that 'Caught Licking Leather' will be bested as THE MOST EXCELLENT AND SOCIALLY RELEVANT pre-recorded music piece released in 2007.

Thanks for steering me in the right direction, Mahatma.

Gonna start archiving the show?

Posted by MF DU on 2007-07-09 06:05:28 +0000
CD-Rs exist of everything I've done - its a matter of getting a routine and preferred method of putting them up online.

Sendspace is blocked by too many entities, 2 hours is too long a length for my comfort as a podcast - If I can re-edit it as 2 50 minute podcasts on a free server somewhere where everyone has access to it, thats what Im looking for.

I am also in talks with the UMASS faculty advisor in how to best get podcasting up and running as a system in general for WMUA.

Please add any thoughts / insight / ideas as I am in need of them - I am feeling a little stuck in how to best execute this archiving / podcasting function.

I don't know anything about the technical aspects of it, but would love to listen to your show.

Would your podcast violate these rules?

Posted by MF DU on 2007-07-09 07:37:26 +0000
no - and ourmedia, If I remember correctly, was where I did my initial test run podcasts.

Actually I think my podcasts would now be less 'bandit' because WMUA PAYS BMI and ASCAP and since the shows originate from there and not from MF DU's basement, I think I dont need to get each recorded artist's permission to broadcast their stuff.

This is probably the wat to go. (I just hope I have access to this at work - probably not)
