A mainstream Hollywood movie directed by Werner Herzog !?!?

Cant wait for this, BTW.
There Is a newly opened Amherst Cinema that plays all those pesky art films - hopefully they will get it.

I love everything w/Bale and Zahn.

This will not be a pesky art-film. It will get a wide, if not full, release from MGM.
Interesting to note that this is the second time Herzog filmed this story; he also did the documentary about Dieter in '97.

This movie looks tough. Apparently they eat dead snake to stay alive!

Pesky Art Films was just my weird humor - I meant the overall feel of the Amherst establishment.
I have seen ads for the Herzog joint all over the place. I might be able to see that one in West Springfield, too.
Always down for a good Christian Bale flick.
Also can't wait for the Cheadle vehicle Talk To Me I think that might be a pesky art film - at least one in a lot more limited distribution than Trnsformers or the latest Mandy Moore bowel movement.

Interesting - Glob (who liked the film, BTW) sez its only @ Kendall, so at least so far, it does seem to have that 'pesky art film' aura to it. Hopefully this will change so I can see it in redneck Springfield.
Springfield MA can't even get the Simpsons premiere for chrissakes.

It's also opening today at the Loews Boston Common Megaplex.
I imagine it will be in wider release next week after the opening.

interesting - Globe only said Kendall.
I really like the Loews megaplex - yeah I know its expensive and touristy, but the flagship theater is 'FUCK ALL HUGE' which is a good thing. I saw Apocalypse Now: Redux, Scarface, and The Departed there and was not disappointed.

Oh, I like the place too. They were very agreeable to refunding my money for the new bond film last fall when we couldn't find seats together. Seen some good stuff there.
Also I believe the Boston Common Megaplex has one of only 2 all digital theaters in NE.

Now that I come to think of it, they did the same thing with us for the Departed and they got us into a later showing.

But not as tough as this bear!
God I loved that movie.

G lib with the 'Bear Cinema' fagen. nice.

It would be a good fagen if I knew what you were talking about... :)
The image is from "Grizzly Man" the Herzog documentary. Is that what you were talking about? Sorry for being a dummy-- I usually need things spelled out for my feeble brain...

half the time I dont even know what Im talking about. My knowledge of Herzog's body of work isn't what it should be, so when I saw the bears I wasn't sure whats what and I summarily ignored all context clues that we were in the midst of a Herzog thread.
Seems my Netflix queue will have to help me overcome this shortfall...
Can I still call you a 'Bear Fagen Specialist' though?
I like the title.

anyone interested in a Tuesday July 24th screening?
