Just noticed "Drag to change route" (as well the "Add destination..." feature) on Google Maps. A good thing better.

Agreed. To make it perfect, they need elevation profiles, and the ability to add your own personal "roads" that aren't in Google's database (e.g. "Cut through Old Man Johnson's Farm to Mr. McGee's Five and Dime").
