<a href="http://www.theatlantic.com/doc/200709/quirk">Quirky</a>!

Hm... correct me if I'm wrong, but the author of that article appears to approve of Apatow's last film (before the above-lauded Superbad), Knocked Up - citing it as a refreshing break from the quirkaliciousness seen in such dreadful films as Napoleon Dynamite.

It isn't one of those "aren't we weird?!" films - it's kind of Revenge of the Nerds for the 00's.

Erm, you are right. I didn't get to the end of the article yet (my problem with reading things online, although, I have the dead trees edition and seeing it there made me think to post a link to the article here). <i>Superbad</i> is non-quirky!

You'd say these two teens exist in a coherent universe and the movie has something to say about modern life? Which is?

The <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2007/08/20/movies/20arts-SUPERBADACES_BRF.html?_r=1&oref=slogin">NYTimes </a> review was good, too.

Um, my mom doesn't let me watch the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trailer_(film)#Parts_of_a_trailer">"red" trailers</a>. Stop spewing Internet Porn, guys.

Oops, review is <a href="http://movies2.nytimes.com/2007/08/17/movies/17supe.html">here</a>.

Ooops, sorry DU.

The G-rated one is <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNpoTxeydiY">here</a>.

I prefer the sweary one, though...

I actually thought it was a really charming film. I liked that it showed teenagers doing things which may be technically illegal or unethical, but they're still sweet and lovable kids.

I was being a pain in the ass. I dont care what they say. I have been looking forward to this flick ever since I found out the 'George Michael' kid from Arrested Development show was in it.

I was super sad when "AD" went off the air.

It hasn't made its way over here yet, but my NYC friends loved AD and miss it somethin' awful.

Did you see <a href="http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x23ll0_michael-cera-gets-fired-from-knocke">this</a> (fake clip of Micahel Cera getting fired from Knocked Up)?

that's hilarious - is this supposed to be a staged send up of what happened on the I (Heart) Huckabees set between the director and Lily Tomlin?

DU, are you <i>ever</i> off-target? :o)

I had to have that spoon-fed to me. Smarty-pants!

That's the quirky connection!
