I Want To Go See The Kerouac 'On The Road' Scrolls in Lowell with MF DU

RRR Records in Lowell will need a visit as well. I believe RRRon only does appointments now. 10ish years or so ago, this was a great little specialty shop...

RRRon was open for regular visitors as recently as 2 summers ago. Not sure if that's still true.
His website claims the store is open 10-5 Monday through Saturday. Not sure I trust that. Perhaps he's settled into a routine in his old age, but when I was in high school and college, his hours were whenever he felt like being there.
The store has moved (twice) since 10 years ago: now at the corner of Jackson and Central.

Some of my best Otomo Yoshihide stuff is from there. My ears are still ringing 10 years later... :)

So far, it looks as if 5 of us are interested - is that a fair statement?

I'm in!

Actually, just noticed on his website (see above link) that RRRon at RRR records doesn't do Sundays. That said, I am really liking October 6th...

I'll see if I can get that day off.

Are most people interested cool with that Oct 6th date? I'm pretty sure I'm going to get yelled at by the Duane, but other than that I am trying to make it as unified as possible...

I didn't vote for the 6th, but am in for it.

G LIB WHY ARE YOU HATING ON ME? JUST BECAUSE I TAKE LIKE A TWO WEEK HIATUS IN BETWEEN POSTS DOSENT MEAN YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO VIOLATE MY CIVIL RIGHTS BY DICTATING WHERE AND WHEN I HAVE TO BE SOMEWHERE TO SEE THE WORK OF SOME LITERARY W________r fROM THE FIFTIES. YOU'LL BE HEARING FROM MY ACLU LAWYERS SHORTLY...
how was that?
;)

perfect.
And you might know the answer to this-- who should I hate on to get someone to comment on my Harvey/Barbaro comparison? Tori Amos?
Posted by pamsterdam on 2007-08-30 05:49:37 +0000
TORI AMOS? TORI FREAKING AMOS?
(retch! retch!)
Posted by Epoisses on 2007-08-30 05:53:54 +0000
Universally reviled.
Posted by MF DU on 2007-08-30 06:40:30 +0000
that might do it.
I am such a PJ Harvey (and sad to say Barbaro as well) rube, that my comments would not be very useful.
I will try and rectify this...

If we do this on the 6th of Oct - Is anyone also into the RRR records thing, or should I aim to do this after RSN'ers have parted ways?
Posted by MF DU on 2007-08-30 06:52:18 +0000
not by Jawbox.
Posted by G lib on 2007-08-30 06:56:48 +0000
thank you!

Oh snap!

I hate her almost as much as I hate Meg Ryan. Which is saying a lot.

Bless you, G lib. Bless you.

Oh, Pah leeeeze, MF DU.
Don't ever use the word 'rube' in any kind of a sentence that includes you and music again, or you'll risk a smack down.
Got it?

Umm now that everyone has already tinkered with their schedule, is the weekend before Oct 6th possible? Some Maddie related stuff will keep me from this date I just found out...
I started a new thread complete with Phoenix article stuff here.
