advise me, im broken

so there is a good chance i broke my finger on saturday racing, I have health insurance but have never used it - how do i go about getting a PCP? it costs me $15 to see a doctor or $75 for the emergency room so i would much prefer to get registered somewhere

Good luck. Having a PCP designated before you need one is sorta key. As long as you have insurance, you should be able to go to a clinic in your network and see a doctor. Then, you can spend the next few months wrangling with the insurance that the doctor you saw is your PCP.

Maybe you should just get some PCP...

It's pretty easy to call up a doctor in your network and tell them that you'd like them to be your PCP and that you need to see someone for a problem you have now. However, they may make you wait longer than you would if they were already your PCP.

Call your insurance company, or look in the enormous book they should've given you, and choose a doctor near you. Tell the insurance company who your PCP is before you go, then you won't have any hassle...or shouldn't.

after being that slightly helpless but very charming english slut on the phone for about 2 hours i managed to track down a walk in clinic at MGH - all very painless, turns out im not broken, merely banged up wicked haaad
