I like yr optimism. I'm picking up smoked bbq from a roadside vendor - coupled with some cold beer, horseplay with the nigs, and some national pasttime it's gonna be a good night. How could it not be?

Wow. The only thing better than watching the game w/ family and roadside bbq would have been to stay the extra hour and a half in Friendly Fenway and watch the MFY lose on the jumbo-tron. Did anyone else view/recognize/realize the Sox win/won the Division by watching the NESN broadcast reaction of the Fenway faithful (because the YES network has TV rights to the MFY?) Birds down 3, bases loaded, bottom of the 9th, two out... Triple tied it. Are you kidding me?

By some weird fluke - my cable box unlocked all the MLB channels - I guess we have free movie channels for some Shotime preview or something... Thinking it was too good to be true, I scanned for MFY and there it was. Taking it as a sign, I watched with rapt attention from inning 8 on. I was really hoping Millar would have put the nail in the coffin, but the way it ultimately worked out was pretty cool, too. From Conor's post, though, Im thinking watching NESN might have been even more enjoyable. However you slice it, it's great news!

The Pants and I went to bed around 10 when the MFY were up 3 in the top of the 9th. My Pop called me at around 10:55 to talk about the game because he figured I was up and watching. Then I laid in bed not able to get back to sleep, but, still not knowing what happened with the game until this morning. Stupid, 2 year experienced parent. (fortunately, my son knew there was news to be seen on Sports Center, and made sure we got up at 5:30 to see it)
