According to dj #4, maybe Jandek worked for "Hallibacon" as the liberals like to call it. :) [b:02b57116f7]WUNH 91.3fm Limited Jandek Discography[/b:02b57116f7] Label and Catalogue# Year Title comments : Format Corwood 0750 1986 Telegraph Melts n/a LP Corwood 0751 1986 Follow Your Footsteps n/a LP Corwood 0752 1987 Modern Dances n/a LP Corwood 0753 1987 Blue Corpse n/a LP Corwood 0755 1988 On The Way n/a LP Corwood 0756 1989 The Living End n/a LP Corwood 0757 1990 Somebody In the Snow n/a LP Corwood 0758 1991 One Foot In the North n/a LP Corwood 0759 1993 Lost Cause LP Corwood 0760 1993 The 12th Apostle n/a LP Corwood 0761 1994 Graven Image (see below notes) CD comments for Graven Image: dj #1: "I Have To Shit My Pants" dj #2: "Production Seems To Have Improved" dj #3: "Is this ALL improvised? I Hope to God It Is. Dj #4: "I bet Jandek is some big Texan capitalist oil pig and plays this weird, spacey music because he OWES SATAN!!! - aka KOKO"* Corwood 0762 1994 Glad to Get away n/a CD Ps Koko was Stevi "Ravi" Coviello, a WUNH music director in 1993 who took me, a carless freshman, to see New Bomb Turks, Stereolab, Pavement (where I met BQ for the first time: He told me the Boredoms were Bullshit and we've been friends ever since) shopping @ RRR records in Lowell, and generally corrupted my then 19 yr old mind..... I think he later worked booking @ the Middle East... haven't seen or heard from that guy in a long time..... He was also the first non Glumac person to give me shit about liking John Zorn too much....

Ravi was awesome. He did that fanzine called 'Dipsomania' which was about being a drunk- I remember a story of him getting wasted and trashing a house with the Dischord 7" collection playing. Excellent! 'Glad To Get Away' and 'Graven Image' are after he broke up with Nancy- not so much reliance on other players on those albums. 'Blue Corpse' is the one that everyone cites as their favorite, for whatever that's worth.

I played some shit off the 12th apostle LP on Monday night: side B track 3. Shit was fucked. I dug it. Outsider music. The Shags, Wesley Willis, Daniel Johnston, Hazel Atkins come to mind.... (these references are meant as a complement not an insult BTW) Mike F Is totally right about the Dischord 7" thing. I used to go to Dover w him and Marcia (her brother was in this Newmarket high school punk band) and Rachel and Glumac and have them buy PBR. (which I was too scared to drink more than 2 of in fear of getting sick - I was pretty anal in college at least until after I took my requisite "1 year off" from school so I could have a mini breakdown @ home..... In other WUNH news, the techno show after me the Trance Lab www.trancelab.com had one of the founding members of Gluestick on the other night doing beatmatching and downtempo stuff... pretty cool Is jon Clark doing Ambient far behind? Joe Queer Doing Dub and House? Tony Bagardo of Hussy doing Trance? God Bless Durham NH.

I started a Karl thread on the other forum. So Jon Clark is in Mexico: http://www.geocities.com/jonclark500/weblog/index.html I haven't heard 'Twelfth Apostle' yet- one of the 16 that I don't have. Shit! Marcia's brother Kai was in the Burls, who we interviewed in Adhesive X #2.

Let's name this 'nostalgia trip' rather than Rawk. Chris Steinmetz cringes every time I tell anyone that he was in the Burls. Which I do every time I introduce him to anyone. He cringes even more when I always mention that all of their songs were about Natty Light. I think I still have a copy of Adhesive X #2... BTW-- I'm trying to start up a Women's Zine collection here at my job. I'm pretty excited about it. (sorry, Mike, can't get yours in there!)

shit... Chris was in the Burls? How the FUCK did I miss out on that? Chris, if reading this must think Im an asshole.... some good friend I am. Digging throught those Jandek LPs made me feel really good (and really old) aging is such bittersweet sorrow.....

G- Try and get some Fucktooth (Jen Angel,) Simba (Vique Martin) and Mold (Daina Senuta) in there. Chris played with the Burls for one show- he did it so that he could play on the same bill as the Mr. T Experience and Doc Hopper. Best song titles from the Burls: 'Anarchy in Newmarket," "Sexual Anarchy," "Spank-A-Thon."
