(Gulp)

Pretty damn good music on television week. Sex Pistols on Leno tonight. Pistols then are on w/ Craig Ferguson tommorow night. Kimmel has Thurston Moore and Common on the same show on Thur Nov 1st (probably not a duet, but one could hope) Honorable mention: Jay Z, Talib Kweli, Wilco. wow.

JL: Betty White, the first lady of television. Betty, why are you here tonight? BW: To see the Sex Pistols! JL: Betty White, the original Sex Pistol. No egg on her face, either. I can't believe I'm watching The Tonight Show... and Tom Cruise is going to be the first guest. Let's also not forget to mention that Tom Arnold got felt up while wearing a squirrel costume.

Ron Paul upstaged Johnny Rotten.

I've been reading a book of essays on John Lydon recently -- good timing re: reading this post and the TV appearance. Rotten sounded like Biafra trying to sound like Rotten. I did like the "when are we going to get out of Iraq?" bit. Still, if I wanna listen to the Sex Pistols, I'll listen to 'em circa: 77 (or even '95).

Ron Paul might have my vote.

I started checking his platform out -- not bad at all.

It'll be interesting to see how Slash's solo is tonight on Conan. Gulp.

My qualm is age - 72?

No music, just talking about his book...

Heard Slash on H. Stern this week - only marginally held my attention to tell the truth. The part where he was talking shit about Buckethead was entertaining to me, but to non Laswell / Praxis heads, the Buckethead marketability factor is less than high. anyways: suck on this Slash!

Wait... is Buckethead Slash? Similar hair... The Slash concert footage was mind-bendingly bad.

What was his beef with Buckethead? I've always been quite fond of both (slash being my jr. hight exception to the no rockstars as sexual objects).

When you do something, V, you do it hardcore. All my ideas about you have now been called into question!

Slash gave him the 'backhanded compliment': talking about how technically proficient he was, kind of inferring, IMHO, that he was a git player with more Soul™.

From Craig Ferguson, the night after the Leno / Cruise / Paul thang: (I dont know why this particular poster excised the Kenneth Branaugh (!) introduction to the band as it was probably the coolest thing about the performance. OK, I guess Rotten's nip slip is pretty good too.) Interview: Press

Pure vaudeville. Love it! I guess "soulful lyricist" doesn't really cover this one, eh? He's more of a "cheeky little monkey"...
