A link? So we can read it? Although, I've tried to get WSJ articles online before, but I'm not a subscriber, so, no such luck.

WSJ is stingy with their internet text unless you subscribe.[jesting] $$$Hungry capitalist Pigs! Must be trying to disenfranchise voters!!! [/jesting] A lot of the times I cant send you guys links to things Ive formed my arguments with because of this. Seriously though, I know we've gone over this before, but my respect for the WSJ lies in that they have a lot more politicians and political experts on their editorial page than most. Instead of Barbara Streisand, Bruce Springsteen , Charlton Heton, etc... you get Jimmy Carter, (ex-Carter friend) Zell Miller, Tom Ridge, Colin Powell, Steve Forbes, John Kerry, and many others sound off here so you get to hear it straight from the horses mouth. Lots of 3rd party news sources usually reprint text from the WSJ, though, so with more scrubbing from the internet I can probably remedy this I found a few references on Google search: NYT has excerpts of the text: http://www.nytimes.com/2004/09/15/politics/campaign/15CND-KERRY.html?hp http://www.hindustantimes.com/news/181_1006870,00050001.htm horses mouth transcript when I can find it...

You could always post the text of the article in a thread, I'm sure they wouldn't get you for "fair use".

WSJ charges and so does the National Journal, which rladew also recomemds. Minus one "source point."

I dont think I've ever even READ the National Journal before.... Where did you get that from dawn?

[quote:aea6dd3f59]You could always post the text of the article in a thread, I'm sure they wouldn't get you for "fair use". [/quote:aea6dd3f59] But how do I get the text? You guys have another thing coming if you think Im gonna start spending my hours typing verbatim facts, figures, and opinion stuff from the WSJ just so you 2 can disagree with me anyways. [quote:aea6dd3f59]Minus one "source point."[/quote:aea6dd3f59] This is snobbery of the highest. Get thee to a public library. This isn't elite info just because you cant read it for free on the internet. The WSJ is far from some fringe publication. It is a part of the mainstream media.

[quote:887aa67350]In a Feb. 25 National Journal column, Stuart Taylor Jr. criticized Mr. Edwards's successful bid for $4 million in punitive damages against a trucking company after a crash, on top of $2.5 million in compensatory damages, Mr. Edwards's argument being that the company's practice of paying drivers by the mile had encouraged recklessness.[/quote:887aa67350] In the "Edwards demands the return Oh snap" link. [quote:887aa67350]Get thee to a public library[/quote:887aa67350] Spoken like a true democrat....

[quote:9e48eb2a78="rladew"]But how do I get the text?[/quote:9e48eb2a78] I was figuring you had a subscription and could log onto the website and do a copy and paste from the web browser. Maybe you quoted National Journal instead of National Review somewhere. I can read a lot of content of the National Review online, I thought. Makes me queasy though, the content, not the reading on the screen. ;) I'll have to search through my records and find the yellowing copies of the Michigan Review, one of the many NR inspired campus rags, that contain some Terry Lorber Editorial Cartoon Humor. (I'm cringing right now at my subject matter.)

Dawn, do you still have my Michigan Review t-shirt? ... Dammit! It's my prized "Keg Party" t-shirt.

WSJ cited this in the opinion article on Edwards... No more biased than moveon.org or Bush's Brain....

"Vote for the Keg Party!" I think I borrowed that T-shirt, when you lived 6 miles from Waterville Valley...

Kerry's article impressed me. It was very well written and had some good points. Depending onmy call volumes today @ Fidelity, I'll try to tell you why, but I thought I would quickly share my overall impression.

Posted by rladew on 2004-09-16 13:53:59 +0000
It sounds like Im pandering, yes, but it really was well written. Im also trying *not* to just knee jerk shit on a viewpoint just because it is the opposite of where I stand. Again, as time permits, I'll try to put down some specifics. This is getting pretty exhausting. I look forward to Nov. 3rd, regardless of the result...
