2008 Iowa Caucus Thread

Let's have a raucous caucus! Ed.: spelling

Sources say that Obama could run away with it if he takes the second-tier support!

Edwards is getting a lot of hype. He could be the surprise candidate of choice in Iowa. Kind of seems like no one can make up their minds there with so many good options. Too bad some of these candidates weren't such hot tickets in the last election.

The CW is that if Edwards finishes 3rd among the Democrats, he'll probably drop out. But I don't buy the CW! IMO the Iowa Caucuses should not be this important, but all the media hype definitely has me all a-twitter about the political goings on with our friends on the other side of the Mississippi. I'd like to see a 1-2 Obama-Edwards punch. Or Edwards-Obama, doesn't matter to me.

It's gonna be Huckabee.

So many good options... unless you're a Republican.

Yeah, totally. And Hill, too!

Posted by tgl on 2008-01-03 22:09:29 +0000
Why is Huckabee a scab?

Posted by tgl on 2008-01-03 22:10:11 +0000
Obama and Huckabee. Wow. Edwards squeaks out past Clinton. Wow.

Rudy = 4% Ron Paul = 10% Wow!

Leno's guest - he crossed the picket line of the Writer's Guild strike.

God, you all know I hope to God it's not Hillary at the end of this. But before we crown anybody, let's keep in mind: In 92, Harkin won Iowa and Tsongas won New Hampshire, Maryland, Arizona, Washington and Utah. Clinton won the rest. Bush Sr. swept. In 96: Clinton swept. Buchannan won New Hampshire, Alaska and Louisiana, and Forbes won Delaware and Arizona. Dole won the rest. In 00: Gore swept. McCain won New Hampshire. Bush swept the rest. In 04: Dean won Vermont. Edwards won South Carolina. Kerry the rest. Bush swept. We got a long way to go.

Did he write jokes for the show?

Posted by tgl on 2008-01-04 10:04:07 +0000
My "wow" is purely confined to the 2008 Iowa Caucus, no further projections. Did Rudy even visit Iowa?

Posted by Miriam on 2008-01-04 10:52:30 +0000
Not sure, but Romney sure left his money there.

No, but did I ever tell you that I played the character "Huckabee" in the Fantastiks my freshman year in college? Very fun role.

Posted by tommy on 2008-01-04 11:36:52 +0000
The father of the boy, right? Awesome. The Fantasticks is one of my guilty pleasure movies. Featuring The Cute One from the New Kids, plus Huckabee was played by the same dude who played Mo from Slapshot. Mo is the reason why I've always worn number 2 on any hockey team I was on if I had the choice.

For what its worth, I just can't get my head around the Huckabee thing. I don't see it going anywhere, even with Charles Norris. - P.S.Chuck if you're reading this between filming spots for yr 'total gym' - don't roundhouse kick me...
