new hobby anyone?

In my efforts to stay off the demon weed (largely unsucessful so far) I have decided I need a little hobby to occupy my time - In light of our various upcoming canoe excursions i bought this:

I am going to buy some of this:

would anyone care to join me?

Its probably a good weekend of work and about 40 bucks worth of materials to make an object of beauty that you will treasure and that will propel you through the water in much finer fashion than some horrible plastic shovel - plus if we bulk buy wood it will make it even cheaper and group projects are fun as many hands make light work

I applaud your ambition, but I think it would be more worthwhile for me to save my money toward buying a canoe.
