2008 NH Primary
Crocodile tears turns undecideds for Clinton.
<a href="http://matthewyglesias.theatlantic.com/archives/2008/01/how_wrong_were_the_polls.php">Earlier polling captured all of Obama's supporters</a>, however, it looks like all undecideds went for Clinton yesterday. Obama also carried rural towns. Clinton won big in Manchester. It'll be an interesting race till Feb. 5th, maybe longer.
Romney's talk about silver medals was cringe inducing, although, as MY points out in another post, he leads the GOP pack with delegate totals. Maybe we'll get more 9/11 in the news now, er, more Rudy in the news now.
(Five minutes of weeping)
There was a comment on MY that implied the opposite. Independents saw the forecast that Obama had a bigger lead over Hillary than McCain did over Romney, so they thought their vote was better used to vote for McCain. Hence, less votes for Obama, more votes for McCain.
That's why Clinton - McCain is not a good matchup for the Dems. Most independents aren't going to vote Clinton. Obama - McCain, now that's interesting. Both candidates draw independents.
Waitress moms saw Clinton tear-up on Monday, and decided to vote for her on Tuesday.
Take it from the <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/09/opinion/08dowd.html?_r=1&ref=opinion&oref=slogin">waitress-mom-in-chief</a>.
PS "Crocodile tears" was meant to be provocative. I don't think Clinton's moment was calculated. Lucky for her.
