hut one, hut two..................go pats!
on another football note; why does troy aikmen look like such a dick? he looks like the guy that hurled me around in the park during touch football games and then proceeded to beat the crap out of me on the day i actually caught/touched him.
had to get that out. he's a "decent" analyst and he's never physically harmed, so i forgive him.
set............hike!

BTW: When was the last time the Patriots lost a home playoff game?

Is that pretty typical in the second round of the playoffs? When the wildcard victors face the rested division leaders at home?

Usually, there's one upset. Last year, both 1st and 2nd ranked seeds in the AFC lost in the divisional rounds.
Jaguars have a porous secondary in the defense which favors Brady Moss and Welker. And Jacksonville's conservative offense isn't designed to score a lot of touchdowns. They seem like a long-shot to beat the Pats.
The Chargers also have as equally one-dimensional offense. Although the Colts are banged-up, they've still got too much talent both on and off the field. Upset here seems highly unlikely as well.
In the NFC, you have one team that's peaking now (the Giants) going against a team that's stumbling (the Cowboys), but it's tough to pick New York. Most of their wins were against completely shitty teams. Also, there's too many playmakers on both sides of the ball on the Cowboys (even without T.O.), it's also seems unlikely.
While the Seahawks played decent to strong defense last week against the Redskins, we have to take into consideration that Washington had a pretty mediocre offense. While it seems unlikely that Favre loses at home after a bye and his great season, the Packers field the least experienced team (where as Seattle has quite a decent number who made it to the Super Bowl). The again, Seattle won the NFC West, one of the shittiest divisions.
So I still say all the home teams win.

Good call! From the Worcester T&G: "The Patriots are 9-1 all-time in home playoff games and own a nine-game home winning streak in postseason play. The Pats’ last home playoff loss was Dec. 31, 1978. "

So, once again, the fraud that is punditry is unveiled.
Would have preferred a Pats-Colts match-up, but the Chargers have plenty of baggage to make this fun. Gotta like playoff games in Green Bay.
I didn't see the Statue of Liberty play on Saturday, maybe it's a YouTube search away. Then again, the NFL is a bit touchy about copyright.

Not a Statue of Liberty play -- that's when the QB holds the ball up like he's going to pass and then a back comes by and grabs it. It was a fake direct snap, which I have never seen before.

The Pats usually use the fake direct snap play at least once a season.
