'Lost' Season 4 Thread

Watched a stream of last night's season premiere, which added a ton of questions to last year's season finale. Just awesome. Then I was poking around and found this page online -- I have a lot of reading to do before next week's show. Damn!

Insert Conor Clockwise complaint [here]. FWIW: It was pretty fuckin awesome from where the DÜ sits. Free the Oceanic Six!

Insert MF DU ridicule [here]. What is so odd is how "Lost" (and its twin "Prison Break" for that matter) have become essentially prime time soap operas, but they have a week to shoot, instead of 24 hours. One needs to watch every fourth show and everything sorta works. No one changes enough to matter plot wise, little gets answered, and (dd8 is right here) just more questions asked. When a question is directly asked "Locke, why did you destroy the submarine?"/"But Luke is Dead!" just cue an ambush or something. It's like the Dukes of Hazard with the car jumping through the air/cut to commercial, but without direction. I know it's the "it" show, but I'm sorta wishing I had those 10 or 12 hours back.

Cue all the "but, Conor, you just don't get it!" posts in t-minus, three, two, one...

CC, insisting that writer's have a priori knowledge of the plot before producing a TV mini-series is soooooo pre-ironical.

Posted by pamsterdam on 2008-02-04 16:37:43 +0000
We're a season behind over here, and I am SO upset about Mr Eko. So, um, yeah. I have nothing to contribute here. Apart from agreeing with CC that it's totally a soap opera. Way too much kissing and beefcake for it to be anything else. Not that I'm complaining. Apart from the kissing. Kissing = icky.

Lost is great and is probably as much of a soap opera as "Twin Peaks". Get over it.

Another great episode last night. Awesome to see the Lawnmower man show up. Check this out. Dubious yet totally geektastic!!!

Not a bad episode -- not as bombastic as the last two, but things moved along well. That page is thorough and well-researched.

Benjamin Linus is a crafty motherfucker.

Wow. Good one last night.

So many questions; not enough answers.

Posted by Rory_Stark on 2008-02-25 19:42:11 +0000
Calm down, we have three seasons to go here. Otherwise, Kate episodes are always the weakest.

Posted by Miriam on 2008-02-25 22:35:59 +0000
Really looking forward to the complete box set so I can follow the storylines.

Posted by pamsterdam on 2008-02-26 07:46:09 +0000
This is how we're following it - it works well that way. Midway through season 3 at the moment. Kate annoys me more as time goes on. I want more Hurley...

Posted by Miriam on 2008-02-26 17:57:54 +0000
I heart Hurley, too! Looking forward to more time in the looney bin with him.

last episode was a total Fabio soap opera. This is pretty much my favorite show but did she have to slap him while his shirt was off. WTF

Posted by MF DU on 2008-02-29 11:06:28 +0000
Do you mean now, or in 1996?

Posted by MF DU on 2008-02-29 11:07:23 +0000
The flashback segments are getting more and more interesting.

Posted by dyedon8 on 2008-03-01 04:29:55 +0000
I know that episode was awesome, I just don't feel any attachment to it.

Ooooh, Hurley's awesome and everything, but Desmond makes my toes curl!

Do White People like to watch this show????

Posted by MF DU on 2008-03-24 22:00:04 +0000
It's # 13.5 on the list. Oh and yes:

Posted by ConorClockwise on 2008-03-24 22:01:39 +0000
I believe the term is 'white people who can't figure out why they enjoy prime-time soap operas'.

Posted by dyedon8 on 2008-03-25 00:13:40 +0000
I know EXACTLY why I like the show. :)

I'm going to have to go ahead and call in a code J14.

I have a confession to make. To my husband's chagrin, I have watched all of season 1 and half of season 2 over a period of 2 weeks. Lost=Crack.

Checkmate, Mr Ecko. Did anyone catch the fake commerical for octagon global recruiting? Wow. Bitching episode.

Posted by dyedon8 on 2008-05-31 04:00:32 +0000
Shit was completely staggering last night. Wow. I signed up to be recruited by Octagon (incidentally, same time and place as this year's Comicon).

Posted by dyedon8 on 2008-05-31 04:13:13 +0000
Spoiler alert: Alternately.
