can I just say...

...how much I appreciate waking up in a puddle of sweat, shuffling into the living room, firing up my computer, and being informed by Rideside that the current temperature on Mount Washington is 45 degrees F?

Thanks for including that feature, tgl.

And I appreciate you drawing my distracted attention to that fact, pchippy. I can almost feel the breeze from here!

Now it's 43. The fog rolled in.

For some reason that made me think of Gorton's frozen fish commercials.

Gorton's has been known to provide an occasional 'what to do for Ladew family dinner?' solution from time to time...

Probably not at all healthy, but fishsticks can sometimes save the day.

Eh, it ain't so terrible, either. Lower in calories & fat than beef burgers.

Typical hamburger:

Yet another reason to be a vegetarian. I'm sure the fish isn't bad for you, but the sodium probably is.

Welcome to my world of central air conditioning with a ceiling fan on all night...just a sheet and the thinnest of pj's...all for a balmy 78-82 at night. Today is supposed to be in the 90's again with high humidity. All I can say is: wah, wah, wah. At least you have a nice ocean breeze.

23 degrees, light freezing fog. I guess fall has arrived.

I remember hiking from Greenleaf to Zealand Falls one day in late September of 1990. There was three feet of rime on the windward side of each rock on Lafayette, and six to eight inches of fresh snow at Galehead.

7 degrees, partly cloudy.

Looks a bit like Antarctica at the moment!
