0614 (2008)

Saturday's puzzle was nearly as difficult as <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2008/06/15/magazine/15wwln-Q4-t.html?_r=1å&ref=magazine&oref=slogin">this interview</a>.

I made some progress on the upper right block (accentuate) but that's about it. About 9 answers in all. I think "statist" is an answer, but I'm not sure. Any reason the grid looks like a swastika?

A bunch of the Dig puzzles have looked liked swastikas.

I sent a letter to that effect to the Dig.

It did not get printed.

That's not a swastika; those are pinwheels.

That interview was brutal. I think I like Gore Vidal more now.

A+++. Gore Vidal is so much cooler than I gave him credit for! Burr = one of my all-time faves.

Excellent; grammar.

I will now refer to these as pinwheels. Rather, I'll refer to these puzzles with 4 4X10 blocks as "bloody hard pinwheels".

Seconded.

Can't listen to this right now, did they mention the constructor? Will Shortz mentioned "truthiness" (which I didn't get BTW, but had a mental image of Stephen Colbert as I tried to solve) last weekend on NPR's Weekend Edition, but didn't mention the constructor.

Find me on github.
