how do these season 5 discs work for ya mahatma?

Posted by mahatma chani on 2008-07-24 15:54:15 +0000
Worked out well, thanks for asking. Finished it last night. Loved it. A triumph! Burst into tears during one episode, but I'm not aloud to go into any more detail such as not to ruin dyedon8's enjoyment of said series.

Without spoiling anything - I loved the last episode. It wrapped stuff up without being maudlin - tragedies and successes for various characters were abound.

even without having seen this show, this is kind of amazing.

1. welcome loxocele. 2. You are correct, sir.

I should mention that me and Propagandatour stayed with this guy in Baltimore last summer.

Oh, by the way, MF DU: I'm about halfway through "Homicide" now, and, no shocker, it's fucking amazing. Thanks for letting me borrow that as well.

Anyone in the queue after MC is done?

Posted by MF DU on 2008-09-19 17:52:03 +0000
It's yours. for David Simon completists: Don't forget The Corner which is also excellent.

I'll send it to you when I'm all done. It's the book, mind you, not some more TV stuff. It's like the primordial Wire.

There are complete Homicide DVD sets (7 seasons I think - thats how I first got drawn into all the Simon shit - I used to watch the reruns on A&E all the time. Yapphet Koto.)

Gecko loved "Homicide" (TV show), which I think was useful in pitching "The Wire" to her. Still shocked she watched (and loved) "The Wire" as it was a checklist of virtually all things she hates in entertainment: extreme profanity, senseless violence, human torture, mysogyny. The only thing that was missing from her verboten entertainment list was "men on horses."

LO FUCKING L!!!!

Specifically, it's lots of men on horses, which seem to be a big part of certain "epics" which I can't handle(see Sparticus).

It's a shame about Emmy.
