What is this -- some Earth fruit?

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/1SXSmojIM28&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/1SXSmojIM28&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Best PSA ever. First time I've seen it in a million years. I never noticed his accent before. Nor the rhyming couplets.

Another favorite:
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/kiUQKuZF85w&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/kiUQKuZF85w&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

I wish I could find the PSA that told parents not to be assholes to their kids. A series of great quotes like "Hey, stupid, don't you know how to listen?" and "You can't be my kid", etc.

Awesome -- after so many years I remember every word.

That abused kid one was intense -- "I wish you were never born!"

Not a PSA, but here's a favorite from M's youth in the Milwaukee area:

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/AajNoE2AqnY&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/AajNoE2AqnY&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

More about this insane place <a href="http://www.lileks.com/institute/motel/index.html">here</a>. Sadly, it is closed now.

Couldn't find the verbal abuse one, but did find this other parenting psa classic:
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/n5XakEKSIaM&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/n5XakEKSIaM&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

As for "the gobbler", I'll leave it to CTP to advise the Rideside community of the British slang meaning.

...and as we're strolling down memory lane, I can't help but share this Sesame Street song that I used to FREAK OUT to as a kid. I thought it was the best "modern" rock'n'roll song I'd ever heard at the time. Ah, 1977 in rural New England. These were dark times.

And I have always wondered why I was obsessed with the LDS church. God I'm a dumbass!

I nominate
"Ah, 1977 in rural New England. These were dark times" as the next Rideside header.
